Peter Wylde, a good friend of the AA Archives has recently donated a very important set of pamphlets, leaflets and flyers published by the AA in the 1970s to accompany exhibitions, lectures and other events. Many of these leaflets are the only existing copies within the AA Archives and record events such as the seminal 1976 James Stirling exhibition and lecture where he presented his schemes for the Nordrhein-Westfalen art collection, Dusseldorf, and for the Wallraf-Richartz Museum, Cologne, arguably ushering in ‘post-modernism’ to the AA…
Other flyers and guides donated include guides to the 1973 exhibition ‘Cheer-Up It’s Archigram’, Peter Cook’s lecture show ‘Arcadian City’ of 1978 and a major Frei Otto exhibition from 1976.
