The AA Archives are pleased to announce a major donation of work by Martyn L. Haxworth, including a full set of drawings for his renowned AA Diploma Honours project for Hook New Town, Hampshire – a joint project with C.H. Woodward and J.C.Hodges from 1962.

Martyn’s donation also contains a substantial amount of material from his other years at the AA (1957-1962), from First Year design exercises to later large scale developments and town planning.

Following graduation, Martyn practised as Hodges Haxworth (with J.C.W. Hodges),  specialising in hospital and health care buildings, and later worked with Paul Shepheard. Hodges Haxworth designed the Pennine Warehouse development, Stourton, near Leeds, 1975; housing in Balaam Street, Plaistow; and the rehabilitation of the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel. The practice later became the Hodges Haxworth Jones Partnership.
