AA Film Club

AA Film Club Series 2014-15. Curated by Byron Blakeley.

  • Dystopic Visions travelled through the bizarre science fiction worlds created by various directors including Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner and Terry Gilliam’s Brazil.
  • Within Without explored themes of entrapment, featuring Luis Buñuel’s Exterminating Angel and Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window.
  • Double Lives began looking into ideas of the self and multiple consciousnesses with Holy Motors by Leos Carax and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind by Michel Gondry.

The current series ‘Secrets’ takes us into the murky world of counter espionage, influenced by writers such as Len Deighton, John Le Carré and Graham Greene, through the French Resistance into the Cold War, starting with Fritz Lang’s silent movie Spione.
The AA Film Club has been running for over five years, hosting series run by Students and Members, generating many post film discussions. It is open to all AA Students and Members on Wednesday Evenings at 6:30pm.
