Call for Volunteers: AA Lantern Slide Digitisation Project

The AA Archives is launching a major new project to digitise one of the UK’s largest and most important surviving collections of early 20thC architectural glass lantern slides. The collection consists of over 10,000 images, and is especially significant because its original classification and labelling system remains intact, providing a unique insight into the intellectual framework and development of the pre-war architectural canon in the UK.

We are calling for volunteers who would like to take part in this historic project and assist in constructing a major new online resource for the AA. Volunteers would be actively engaged in digitising, cataloguing and re-housing of the collection and would be expected to contribute a minimum of one day a week. Full induction and training will be provided but the work will require a basic level of computer literacy. Some experience of Photoshop would also be preferable.

To register your interest we would be very grateful if you could complete this online form.

Deadline for registration of interest: Sunday 17 March
