Highlighted from the AA Archive this week is a 1956/7 project for ‘a residential nucleus’ to house 1-2000 workers in Paddington, adjacent to the Grand Union Canal, railway line and terminus – an area then scheduled by the London County Council for slum-clearance and redevelopment.
Produced by AA 4th Year students, John Dalton, Anthony Eardley, Ian Fraser and Robert Knott, the project drawings were shipped to Brazil in 1957 as the AA’s official entry of for the Sao Paulo Housing Competition of that year.
